Nationals Leader David Littleproud is calling on the Queensland government to remove its ban on nuclear energy. Mr Littleproud believes new Premier Steven Miles should be pushing his federal counterparts to remove the ban as the nation moves towards net zero. “I’m just saying take away the ban – let the market decide, don’t have politicians screaming at one another,” the Nationals Leader said. The state's Energy Minister has branded the National Leader's ideas as a "fantasy", saying the state government would not change their stance. It follows a draft GenCost report this week which claims nuclear is the most expensive form of newly installed electricity generation.
