Manager of Opposition Business Paul Fletcher says he wants to see the government “focused” on the cost-of-living crisis amid the current inflation and energy price rises. “The Prime Minister brought the Parliament back, saying it was in a huge rush, he was going to have practical measures to deal with energy price rises,” Mr Fletcher told Sky News Australia. “But we’re now told those measures won’t take effect until the budget. “We’ve got inflation at the highest rate for over 30 years, we’ve got the Treasure panning 6,000-word essays promising to reshape capitalism. “It would be great if that essay had addressed this pressing issue that is facing millions of Australians – rising inflation, rising prices, rising interest rates.”
