NSW electricity prices are expected to rise 19.7 per cent – as power bills prepare to surge amid political debates concerning energy policy. The Labor Party says the price spike is due to policy failure after nine years of Coalition leadership. Labor MP Chris Bowen said the Australian energy system is not ready for the changes being brought about international circumstances. “Nine years of policy chaos means we don’t have enough transmission in the system,” he said.
