Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech says there is a “huge deal announced” between Optus, SpaceX and Starlink which will see Optus gain the ability to cover 100 per cent of Australia with mobile data via satellites. “65 per cent of our country, there is no cellular coverage whatsoever,” Mr Fenech told Sky News Australia. “It is not going to require anything more than your regular 4G smartphones – so the technology of the satellites is going to be backwards compatible.”
