A leaked letter seen by Sky News has “raised concerns” about the process used to acquire air contracts for Victoria’s firefighting fleet, says Sky News Political Reporter Simon Love. Victoria does not own the aircraft, instead leasing them through a series of contracts which is costing taxpayers up to $30 million. The letter expresses concerns about the quality and capability of Victorian Fire Authorities saying panel decisions and assessments had let people down. Those in charge have defended the process.
