Australian Grape and Wine CEO Lee McLean says he is “optimistic” about the talks between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Chinese President Xi Jinping when it comes to the countries' trade relationship. “We’re really optimistic about the fact that we have had this breakthrough, and we have had our leaders talking,” Mr McLean told Sky News Australia. “Having this breakthrough is a really positive step, but it’s a first step, and I don’t think we need to get too far ahead of ourselves in terms of trying to attach any sort of expectation around it. "But hopefully, if we can lead to a position in which the relationship becomes stabilised and a little bit more normalised, that might create some opportunities for us in the future."
