The Optus hacker releasing the private information of 10,000 customers on Tuesday is “very, very concerning,” Labor MP Peter Khalil says. In an online post, the hacker threatened to release the information of 10,000 more customers every day for the next four days if Optus doesn't agree to meet the US$1 million ransom in cryptocurrency. “This security breach, which as we know the Minister has pointed out, rests with Optus,” Mr Khalil told Sky News Australia. “We shouldn’t be expecting this kind of breach of this nature from a large telecommunications company, and we are obviously doing everything we can to support Optus.”
