Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has addressed various issues the company has been struggling with as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. “We knew the recovery was coming, and we were ready for the restart,” he said during a media conference on Thursday. “What we weren’t ready for is, after 18 months of COVID being suppressed, was such high levels of community transmission and the sick leave that followed that. “Neither were our industry partners.”
