Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater says the ACT should “let the market decide” the future of energy as the territory bans new gas connections. The Canberra Times is reporting gas connections for new suburbs and developments will be stopped next year as the territory aims to be wholly run on electricity. “Have the gas and electricity compete and let people will choose what is the best option for heating their homes,” he told Sky News host Jenna Clarke.
