Federal politicians will receive their biggest pay rise in over a decade – as the independent Remuneration Tribunal bumps up their pay by 2.75 per cent. The Remuneration Tribunal said that it based its increase on the current economic conditions and wage trends. The average backbench MP will now earn over $217, 000 plus their allowances.
