Darwin will retain Qantas' direct flights to London until at least mid-June after Western Australia backflipped on its promise to reopen borders on February 5. Qantas CEO Alan Joyce will today announce the route linking southern capitals with Darwin direct to London will stay. The carrier temporarily rerouted its Perth to London flights to the Territory last November when Western Australia refused to reopen to the rest of the country. It is hoped the flights in and out of Darwin will encourage tourists from the UK to visit the Territory when international borders reopen on Monday.
