A financial audit of New South Wales Health’s books showed hundreds of millions of dollars of COVID-19 inventory were disposed of in the state last year for being unable to meet regulatory requirements. The audit found $158.8 million of face masks which did not meet TGA standards were unable to be used and there was a total of $777.8 million of equipment written off. There have been reports the state’s authorities threw out as much COVID equipment as was used in the past year.
