A tourism jobs boom in Queensland has led to more people being employed in the sector than before the pandemic. The latest figures from the ABS show there are 233,000 people working in the tourism and hospitality industries, which is an increase of approximately 5,000 workers compared to 2019. Tourism leaders are calling it a success story after analysis from last year showed 40,000 jobs had been lost. There are still 4,000 positions in tourism and hospitality yet to be filled.
