Tech Expert Trevor Long says the best way to describe the Metaverse is a "virtual presence" in a "virtual world". “If you ask people who are in some way invested in it right now, they would argue it's a virtual reality world, a place to escape, a different way to engage, a different way to interact, a different way to have conversations and meetings," Mr Long told Sky News Australia. “But in fact, Facebook, or now known as Meta, when I interviewed their head of Meta, he didn't really have an answer to that question either because they don't believe that it will be a thing for 10 or 15 years.” He said Meta is simply "positioning themselves" for a virtual world which would involve Mark Zuckerberg in a virtual sense as a “computer avatar”. “That’s as much of a description as we can give, it's a virtual world, it’s a virtual presence.”
