Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says while he believes net zero by 2050 is the "wrong idea", Labor's 43 per cent by 2030 target is "even worse". Mr Canavan said there is a lot of concern around the implications of the policy, particularly in the Hunter Region. "The Labor Party have compiled a hitlist of 215 businesses that they will tax to reach their 43 per cent reduction in just nine years," he told Sky News Australia. "The Hunter Region is one of those areas that will be hit the hardest with 16 businesses on that 215 list."
