The Global CEO of Uber Dara Khosrowshahi says the company has invested $800 million to get its drivers to switch to electric vehicles. The rideshare giant currently has a plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2040. “In order to drive significant change we believe you have to drive the economic factors that create the incentives for our driver base to essentially switch over from combustion engines to electric engines,” Mr Khosrowshahi told Sky News Australia. “Today it costs more to buy an electric car. We’ve got to make that cheaper. “We’ve put $800 million in benefits both on the revenue and the cost side to get a higher percentage of our driver base to make that switch over.” Sponsored content by Uber
