The push for net zero emissions by 2050 among many western nations is a “futile” endeavour when countries such as China, India and Russia aren’t on board, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi. “Let’s think about how futile this entire endeavour is when India aren’t signing up to the 2050 targets," she said. “China aren’t even showing up to Glasgow. Russia are sitting back laughing. “So let’s not pretend that Australia is now part of some global answer because there are many parts of the globe where they’re looking on and just going to be taking advantage of the absolute idiocy and self-harm that we’ve committed to, and other western nations have committed to.”
