The Nationals leader has revealed new details of the deal which was struck in exchange for support of Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s net zero by 2050 target. However, Barnaby Joyce’s comments have angered his colleagues with some claiming he is taking credit for things which were never on the table. Mr Joyce has claimed his party demanded so-called Scope 3 emissions be excluded from any target. “Like accounting for your carbon emissions from coal mining in Australia then counting it for them again when they burn it in China, it’s basically double counting,” he told Sky News Australia. However, one cabinet minister has told Sky News Australia Scope 3 emissions changes were never actually part of the Prime Minister's proposal.
