Prime Minister Scott Morrison may skip crucial climate talks at the Glasgow summit this year if he cannot get a net zero deal over the line with the Nationals. The Australian newspaper reports only 12 Coalition backbenchers are in support of a net zero by 2050 target, including Liberal Senator Jim Molan and Nationals MP Michael McCormack. Another nine MPs are open to it, six are outright opposed, and the majority are undecided. A zero emissions plan is expected to be released within the next two weeks ahead of the sitting fortnight resuming on October 18.
